Hi, my name is Alexandria and I was born and raised in Birmingham, AL. Six years ago I moved to DC to attend college and then I moved to New York for work.
I loved the city life, but I missed the beauty, pace, and open air of southern living. So, in the summer of 2014, I decided to move back home. Somehow despite all I was gaining with the big move, I thought I was going to lose so many of the conveniences/resources of the big city. Much to my surprise, the city of Birmingham was completely different from the one I left. When I left I thought Birmingham was vacant, but I now realize that what I really saw was a blank canvas. Birmingham is a city full of wide open possibilities for anyone with a little color and imagination. I’m part foodie and part fashionista, but there is magic happening here in all areas. Everyday I’m discovering new places to eat, shop, hang, learn, and enjoy. This blog journals my discovery of the magic city. Together, let’s paint the town!

I concur! People are quick to say “Birmingham is so boring!” when in fact they don’t take time to learn about what’s happening right under their noses.
